This month, as we near the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement, the Museum, together with Mothers of Invention and Pathway to Paris, present a special discussion moderated by Mary Robinson, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. This special program will look at the scientific data as well as the human impact of the efforts of achieving these goals and will feature special guests, interviews, and performances.

It’s National Llama Day! For the occasion, we’re sharing this llama figurine, displayed on the third floor of the Museum. Early people hunted the llama and its relatives, along with deer, rheas, and many other smaller animals. About 7,000 years ago, the llama and other camelids became the major animals for hunting in the central Andes. By 2,500 B.C.E., llamas were probably domesticated.
