In sorting through the incredible donations to the TeRonde House over the years, the committee has found duplicates of some real treasures. They will be in the free donation area at the TeRonde House during the October 10th's Fall Festival. This area will be available "only" between the 10am and 1pm wooden shoe demonstration. See you there!

Ever wish you could browse old yearbooks from Cedar Grove-Belgium High School? Look no further than the TeRonde House. We have most yearbooks from 1950 through 2010. There might even be a few gems older than 1950.

These medical tools can be viewed at the Het Museum. On the left, we have an old dentist's drill. It is a manual powered portable drill that was owned by Dr. Charles Young in the early 1900s in Lake Forest, IL. On the right are some surgical instruments that belonged to Dr. L. Van Altena Sr. They were used in the 1860s. Look at the size of that syringe on the far left of the tools. Thank goodness for medical advancements!!

This picture, on display under illumination in the TeRonde House dining room, was painted by George TeRonde. It depicts the TeRonde Beach of Oostburg and the old fish shanty of the DeWitt Bros. The 20 acres of land, which became the TeRonde Beach, was bought by Hank TeRonde from Mr. Linse in 1907 for $700! Many of the cottage owners are 3rd and 4th descendents of the original buyers. The TeRonde House came into possession of this great painting when Rebecca Eash found out it was going up for auction at Paul Auction Co. in Kewaskum. What a special find!

Interested in free old books, photos, etc.? The community has been so gracious in donating to the Het and TeRonde museums that we now feel the need to give back. We have limited storage and are interested in rotating exhibits, so we will be offering a table of free items. Free items are, for example, an older set of encyclopedias, books not associated with the Te Ronde family or any other Dutch family, photos of an unidentifiable world traveler, etc. There will also be a gentleman making wooden shoes! Please come, peruse, and enjoy. Mark your calendars! First event will be October 10th, with a rain date of October 11th. Check back for updates on time. Watch for upcoming posts on new and interesting items at the TeRonde House and Het Museum.
