The Permanent Collection - Work of the Month. 'Ragwort and common agrimony, Braunton Burrows' oil, acrylic on canvas by Frances Gynn Recently acquired as part of this year's environmental commission, the work is currently on display at the Burton alongside a number of additional pieces by Frances. The work focuses on environmental issues facing the North Devon Biosphere, in particular the effect of plastic pollution on the flora within this area. As part of this commission Frances recorded plastic debris by taking acrylic paint casts of discarded packaging and other items and placing those casts (themselves plastic) in the work.

Beautiful, delicate, perfect little porcelain replicas of British birds’ eggs hand made and meticulously hand-painted by Katie Timson. Her delicate little bowls and pebble vases are also a joy.
