Science Exhibits: The challenging journey from Germany to Dundee Science Centre It’s been a challenging year for us all and we hope for an improvement in 2021,... and to enjoy some exciting science experiences! As part of the soon to complete CONNECT refurbishment at Dundee Science Centre (DSC), Aim Design have been working closely with the team at DSC developing a set of science focused exhibits over the last year which were fabricated in Germany by our construction partner Huettinger. Everything from smoke ring makers and mini cranes to cog walls and water tables have been designed, detailed, prototyped, and carefully fabricated, and have been successfully transported across Europe and installed in Dundee Science Centre for the opening of their latest exhibition that is due to open early next year. With this frameless glass construction a glass object was created and produced, which had never existed before. It consists of a total of 38 panes of glass that are completely self-sufficient. This is because 244 high-precision stainless steel fittings were laminated into the 38 composite safety glass so no further steel components are needed for the assembly of the exhibit. The development of the project required six months of highly precise planning and extensive calculatio...ns. MS Wissenschaft started into a new season in July. The exhibition on board is featuring the topic of the Science Year 2020/21: Bioeconomy and presents what an economy based on renewable raw materials could look like. Hüttinger made Neues aus Biomüll (lit.
