Yesterday we visited Lowell Observatory for the Grand Re-Opening of their Pluto Telescope! Named after the planet it was used to discover by Mr. Clyde Tombaugh in 1930. Thank you Lowell Observatory for restoring this beautiful scope and congratulations! Also pictured are the Rotunda Museum and the dome which houses the 24'' Clark Telescope!

Happy Holidays everyone! We're wishing everyone a happy and joyous holiday season. Our wish is for us all to take time to look up at the night sky and remember that your brief existence on this world is not guaranteed and is not forever. I am sending along my "Season's Greetings" image of ngc1579. Like a giant Christmas tree, this nebula is brilliantly lit from blazing stars. We had a couple of solar scopes set up in the backyard the other morning. There was no interesting solar activity but the view was still superb!
