Great Article in the East Oregonian on Nov. 2nd, 2020 about the event.
We have greatly missed seeing everyone at our Terrific Tuesday’s, we are currently working hard to bring these to you virtually and we hope to launch lectures the first of the year. The virtual format will be similar to the original programming with interesting topics each week. We would love to hear what topics interest you, please tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
Every Monday we will post a question, some will be easy some will be hard, all of them will be facts about Umatilla County. Answers will be posted on Thursday's as an update on the original post. Feel free to submit trivia questions or subjects you like to see questions on, contact us through the message link at the top of our page.
For 17 years Heritage Station Museum held a Table setting exhibit. The exhibit was one day only and featured items in private collections from around the county. Each year had a theme or featured item to be used in the place setting. In 2005 the event description stated The always popular Tabelsetting Exhibit returns! Hostesses create beautiful tablescapes to suit the occasion, using a variety of dishes, linens, and centerpieces. Last year we brought this exhibit back and... had hoped to continue that tradition. We have decided to take the exhibit virtual for 2020. This year we will focus on Holidays and Traditions with place settings suitable for Thanksgiving and Winter Holidays. We will be sharing historical information, etiquette, and decorating ideas. This exhibit will be featured throughout the month of November and December on both our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as extra content on our Pinterest page. We welcome your personal photos and stories, just submit them to Shannon via email or Facebook messenger and we will add them to the virtual exhibit rotation. We hope you will share your own insights and knowledge each week and please check out and follow our Pinterest page for extra information and fun ideas!

Day 29 of 31 Days of Halloween Edgar Allen Poe is the author of both stories and poetry, his work was some of the first science fiction, he is credited with creating and inspiring future authors to write detective stories, and he changed how horror stories were told. Many of his more macabre works took you for a psychological turn. Stories such as The Tell-Tale Heart are a wonderful example of the depth and detailed way of story telling that was so very common with Poe’s wo...rk. The following links take you to the site of the Poe Museum as well as accessing his works an allowing you to learn about him, or revisit if you are already a fan. https://www.poemuseum.org https://www.poemuseum.org/poes-works-and-timeline
28 of 31 Days of Halloween Haunted places part 1 of 2 There are a lot of great stories in Eastern Oregon and a lot of well-known and lesser known haunted places. There are places we assume must be haunted where no one has ever experienced anything and some that are shockingly very haunted.... Have you had any experiences? Share your haunted story in the comments, tell us where and what happened and see if anyone else has had a similar experience.
