Two mysterious Marshall-themed mural studies were recently brought to our attention and we requested to borrow them. They are now on display for a limited time at the Marshall Museum. Read more in this week's blog: https://www.marshallfoundation.org//discovered-a-george-m/
I shall expect of you, he informed Acheson, the most complete frankness, particularly about myself. I have no feelings except those I reserve for Mrs. Marshall. Happy Birthday Katherine! Born on this day in 1882.

On 9/16/2020, noted historian Dr. Edward M. Coffman passed away. While working on his dissertation, Coffman was research assistant for Dr. Forrest C. Pogue while Pogue was working on the four-volume biography of George C. Marshall. Marshall Library holds Coffman's research and notes for his publications: The Hilt of the Sword: The Career of Peyton C. March; The War to End All Wars: The American Military Experience in World War I; The Old Army: A Portrait of the American Army... in Peacetime, 1784-1898; and The Regulars: The American Army, 1898-1941. #mondaymotivation #OTD in 1942, Marshall wrote to Eisenhower: I can’t think of any other matters to bring up at this time except to tell you again to deal with me on the frankest possible basis. When you disagree with my point of view, say so, without an apologetic approach; when you want something that you aren’t getting, tell me and I will try to get it for you.... Virginia Military Institute professor Col. Bob James brought his Politics and the Media, an International Studies course, to the library this morning to view archival WWI and WWII propaganda posters. The class came in two groups to meet social distancing required by VMI and us!
