A new acquisition at the Durham Museum and a new mystery for the staff. Can you help us identify this object?

Come on down to The Durham Museum, we will be open today from 11 - 4.30. For the safety of our visitors and staff we ask that you wear a mask whilst inside. Entries are 2 for adults, free for under 16 - cash only.

Due to government recommendations regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) we, at the Durham Museum, have decided to delay our opening this year until the situation stabilises. We hope our staff, visitors and followers stay safe and healthy during this uncertain time.
