Please come see our recent work and consider it a preview of great things to come.

The lives of Oregon's first Black residents were intimately connected with Oregon's Indigenous Peoples. Although marginalized, Black and Native Oregonians built... community together, and often families as well. Martha Jane Carson married Narcisse Lavadour (Walla Walla) in 1868, and raised 10 children between 1870-1890 while living on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Their story is one of dozens of similar stories found in our records. OBP celebrates the thriving cultural traditions of our Native neighbors past and present. Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay!
A history of Benton County's Sulphur Springs is the topic of our blog this week. http://bcmuseum.blogspot.com//sulpher-springs-of-benton-co
